Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Overview
Key features of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
- CBT has clinically proven effectiveness with OCD,
stress,
self-esteem,
anger management,
chronic fatigue,
anxiety,
depression,
troubling thoughts and emotions,
behavioural problems such as shopping addiction.
- CBT is action oriented and targets specific issues you want to deal with.
Very little personal history is required so you only need to tell me the specific
aspects of your life you are upset about.
- Using CBT I can help you deal with troubling emotions without encouraging you to dwell on them.
- At LifeHandle, you will receive full session notes to enable to you go back over the
the main learning points of the session. If you prefer, sessions can also be recorded and
a CD of the session posted to you.
- These sessions notes also contain the homework assignments. Homework assignments will help
you experience more functional thinking patterns, or to recognize the dysfunction
in current ones
- Psychometric tests are used to help gauge the progress you are making. In that way the
therapy can be modified to ensure efficiency and value for money.
- CBT is typically much shorter and more cost effective than psychodynamic therapy. So
you won't be in therapy forever.
- Sessions last for one hour and are scheduled weekly.
