Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Overview
Key features of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
- Counselling through CBT has clinically proven effectiveness with OCD,
stress,
self-esteem,
anger management,
chronic fatigue,
anxiety,
depression,
troubling thoughts and emotions,
behavioural problems such as shopping addiction.
- Using CBT I can help you deal with troubling thoughts, emotions and behaviours without encouraging you
to dwell on them.
- You will receive full session notes after each session to enable to you go back over and master
the main learning points.
- CBT is action oriented and targets specific issues you want to deal with.
Very little personal history is required so you only need to tell me the specific
aspects of your life you are upset about.
- Psychometric tests are used to help gauge the progress you are making. In that way the
therapy can be modified to ensure efficiency and value for money.
- Counselling through CBT is typically much shorter and more cost effective than
psychodynamic therapy.
- Sessions last for one hour and are scheduled either weekly or bi-weekly.
